The daughter of legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg is following in her father’s footsteps and diving into the world of film, just not exactly the type of blockbusters that her dad is accustomed to.
In an interview with The Sun, Mikaela Spielberg has revealed that she has entered the lucrative world of adult entertainment.
Despite the interesting career choice, Mikaela says that her parents, who adopted her in 1996, were not upset by her decision, but more so, “intrigued.” She plans to ensure consent and safety in her sex work, and above all else, maintain financial independence and freedom.
The adolescent Spielberg, who has already overcome mental health issues and alcoholism, revealed to the publication that she submitted an application to be an exotic dancer in Nashville, Tennessee. At some point in her battles, she realized that exploring her sexual side through creating porn made her feel satisfied, as she referred to herself as a “sexual creature.”
“I got really tired of not being able to capitalize on my body, and frankly, I got really tired of being told to hate my body. And I also just got tired of working day-to-day in a way that wasn’t satisfying to my soul. I feel like doing this kind of work, I’m able to ‘satisfy’ other people, but that feels good because it’s not in a way that makes me feel violated.” she explained.
Now, Mikaela wants her decision to be seen as a positive and self-awakening moment, not an early 20s crisis.
“This isn’t like an ‘end of the road’ or ‘I’ve hit bottom’ choice,” she assures. “This is a positive, empowering choice. I realized there is no shame in having a fascination with this industry and wanting to do something that is safe, sane, consensual.”
While the aspiring porn star is working towards pursuing her career, she still sets healthy boundaries. In fact, she refuses to perform sex acts on film with anyone else, out of respect for her 47-year-old fiancé, Chuck Pankow.
