‘Straight Outta Compton’ star Jason Mitchell Arrested For Drugs and Guns in Mississippi

Jason Mitchell, former star of Showtime’s The Chi, has been arrested and slapped with drug and gun charges.

According to several local news reports, Mitchell was arrested on Wednesday after a 10:30 am traffic stop. The actor, who is best known for his role as Eazy-E in Straight Outta Compton, was stopped on Interstate 10 in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Shortly after the stop, officials searched the actor’s GMC Yukon, which, in turn, led to the discovery of two pounds of marijuana, 1,300 ecstasy pills, a Glock 9mm pistol with extended magazines and an AK-47, WLOX reports.

The drugs were individually wrapped and packaged, which, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, indicated a mid-level drug operation.

As a result, Mitchell was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, as well as two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon for the weapons.

According to local news, Mitchell is currently being held on a $150,000 surety bond at the Harrison Couty Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center.
