Styles P Urges Cannabis Companies to Ditch Over-the-Top Marketing: “I Just Want the Bud”

Rapper Styles P has had enough of the modern cannabis industry and the creative ways distributors market their products.

In a hilarious Instagram post venting his frustrations, the “Good Times” star shared a note expressing his grievances.

“What the hell am I supposed to [do] with all this extra s**t?” the post read.

In the caption, he elaborated further, urging his suppliers to keep things straightforward.

“The s**t they give you with an eighth nowadays is absolutely incredible!!! Key chains, boxes, toys, DVD cases, cans. You name it, they got it,” the 50-year-old wrote. “I just want the bud. I ain’t got the time or energy or space for that other s**t … just give me the weed and keep it pushing.”

While he didn’t name specific companies, recent months have seen several marijuana brands go viral for their innovative packaging—some styled like video games and others resembling CD cases. But for the rapper who created a timeless classic celebrating Mary Jane, all the extra bells and whistles are simply unnecessary.
