“r/DonaldTrump,” one of the largest political communities dedicated to President Donald Trump, has been banned on Reddit. The ban comes after Wednesday’s insurrection on Capitol Hill, where five people were killed and several injured.
“Reddit’s site-wide policies prohibit content that promotes hate, or encourages, glorifies, incites, or calls for violence against groups of people or individuals. In accordance with this, we have been proactively reaching out to moderators to remind them of our policies and to offer support or resources as needed,” a spokesperson from Reddit said to Axios.
“We have also taken action to ban the community r/DonaldTrump given repeated policy violations in recent days regarding the violence at the U.S. Capitol.”
Since Wednesday’s “Stop The Steal” rally on Capitol Hill, social media companies have banned President Trump for supporting violence.
This isn’t the first time that the subreddit group has been banned – over the summer, r/donaldtrump was banned along with 2,000 other groups for hate speech.
