A man is accused of fatally shooting a Subway employee and critically injuring another.
Authorities say Melvin Williams was denied bond on Tuesday. In June 2022, he allegedly shot a Subway employee at a Subway location located in Circle K, WSBTV reported.
Police said Williams became angry after an employee put too much mayonnaise on his sandwich, as a result, he opened fire behind the counter. Two women employees were shot, Brittany Macon, 26, and injuring her coworker Jada Statum, then 24.
Macon died from her injuries. The other employee was struck twice after she pushed her son under the counter to keep him from being hurt.
“The defendant poses a significant risk of committing a felony pending trial,” a judge’s order read.
Williams now faces charges of murder, felony murder, three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property in the first degree, cruelty to children in the third degree, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
