Surveillance footage captured the dramatic moment that two suspects chased a victim down and opened fire in the Melrose District in Los Angeles. One of the suspects is in custody, and police are still searching for the other, the Los Angeles Police Department says. Â
Around 6 p.m. on April 10, the victim noticed two men following him. The man, who was wearing an expensive watch at the time, ducked into a store. The suspects followed the man into the retail business and opened fire. The suspect fired six shots, but the victim was not struck.
Jamario Ray, 22, was arrested in connection with the robbery attempt. He is being charged with attempted murder, and his bail was set at $1 million. In addition, he was booked for a no-bail parole violation warrant. Ray was already on parole for an assault with a deadly weapon.Â
Police are asking for the public’s help in capturing the second suspect. He is described as a Black male, about six feet tall, in his 20s. He was last seen wearing black shoes, gray pants, and a navy hoodie.
