The Atlanta Police Department has charged a 22-year-old with murder in the fatal shooting of Chicago rapper King Von outside of a nightclub downtown.
King Von, whose real name is Dayvon Bennett, was among six people who were shot when a fight outside of Monaco Hookah Lounge led to gunshots, according to police.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, investigators obtained a warrant charging Timothy Leeks of Savannah with murder in the rapper’s death.
“Mr. Leeks is in police custody at Grady Hospital where he is undergoing treatment for a gunshot wound,” Atlanta police spokeswoman Marla Jean Rooker told AJC.com. “The homicide of Bennett is closed with this arrest.”
The names of the other victims have not been released at this time.
