Suspect In Georgia Double Homicide Takes Own Life

In an Augusta, Georgia double homicide, the suspect took his own life at a Gordon Inn Suites. According to authorities, he was pronounced dead from a single gunshot wound to the head early Saturday morning.

Tarrez Latrell Booker, 26, was suspected of fatally shooting Raven Michelle Tolbert, 27, and Mercedes Nora Shanice Gibson, 27. A third female victim was found shot taken to an area hospital and is expected to survive.

Investigators believe the incident is domestic-related. During the course of the investigation, Booker was identified as a suspect. He was located at the hotel around 3 a.m. on Saturday.

“As investigators and deputies arrived to the scene and approached the room, a single gunshot was heard coming from inside the room,” Sgt. William McCarty, a public information officer, stated. “The SWAT Team responded to the scene and made entry to find the suspect deceased from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

Booker, identified as a member of the LOE gang by The Augusta Press, has a history of criminal activity. Last March, Booker was released from prison after serving a 10-year prison sentence for an armed robbery he committed as a teen.

Following his release from prison, he had several other run-ins with the law. He was most recently arrested in August and later released.
