A suspect in Young Dolph’s murder has reportedly been released from jail.

Shundale Barnett was arrested in January 2022 and charged as an accessory after the fact to first-degree murder in connection to the Memphis rapper’s murder. Authorities found Barnett and accused killer Justin Johnson at an Indiana gas station.

On December 24, Barnett was bonded out of Tarrant County Jail in Fort Worth, Texas. Shortly after, he was transferred to Clay County Jail in Henrietta, Texas, and was officially released on January 21, 2023.

In other news, Johnson and Cornelius Smith appeared in court on Friday after being indicted on conspiracy charges. Both men’s lawyers allegedly told Judge Lee Coffee they would plead not guilty to the charge.

In addition, Johnson’s attorney Luke Evans filed a motion to have Judge Coffee removed from the case. Evans stated the motion came after learning Judge Coffee had removed his client’s phone, writing, and visitation privileges.

“He did so without granting Mr. Johnson a hearing, and it’s our position that that action shows some impartiality on behalf of the court,” Evans said.

Judge Coffee responded to Evans’ statement saying the removal was because Johnson allegedly made a recording that made its way to the general public while he was behind bars. The recording in question is a song called “No Statements,” which was created by Johnson.

Johnson and Smith will face a 15-60 year jail sentence if they’re found guilty of the conspiracy charge. Both of the men will appear in court again on March 24th.
