Suzzanne Douglas, a veteran actress with four decades of stage and screen credits, has passed away at 64.
According to The NY Post, Douglas, born in Chicago, developed her passion for the arts as a young girl and earned a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and then a master’s in music from the Manhattan School of Music.
Douglas starred on Broadway in shows like “Into The Woods” and “The Tap Dance Kid.” She also went on to star in films like “Tap,” “How Stella Got Her Groove Back,” and “The Inkwell.”
Douglas also had a successful acting career on television with roles in shows like “The Parent ‘Hood” and the critically acclaimed 2019 Netflix miniseries “When They See Us,” which earned two Emmy awards.
Douglass is survived by her husband, neuro-radiologist Roy Jonathan Cobb, and the couple’s daughter Jordan.
