Swizz Beatz and Timbaland Sell VERZUZ To Video App Network Triller

Shortform video application Triller Network has officially acquired VERZUZ from the producers Swizz Beatz and Timbaland. As a part of the deal, Swizz and Timb are now “larger shareholders” in the Triller Network. And the producers have allocated “a portion of their equity in the Triller VERZUZ combined company to all 43 creatives who have performed on VERZUZ to date.”

The stakeholders’ list includes Alicia Keys, Nelly, Kirk Franklin, T-Pain, Gucci Mane, Brandy, Ludacris, E-40, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Beenie Man, and more.

What started as fun entertainment during the beginning of the global COVID-19 pandemic has become the live stream event you don’t want to miss. VERZUZ became so successful that it eventually established integrations with Apple Music and Twitter.

The last news about Triller is from back in February when Universal Music Group announced that it would be removing its catalog from the app after the group claimed Triller “shamefully withheld payments owed to our artists.”
