Swizz Beatz is making a power move into Hollywood storytelling. The Grammy-winning producer has joined forces with acclaimed writer Chris Brancato to launch a new production company centered on inclusive, high-impact content across TV, film, and podcasts.
While the company name is still under wraps, their mission is already locked in. The two previously collaborated on the hit series “Godfather of Harlem” and are now expanding their creative vision with a new drama, “The Westies,” scheduled to begin production in July 2025.
“Moving into producing and creating new shows with [Brancato] felt incredibly natural and organic,” said Swizz in a statement to Variety. “That’s our vibe, our inclusive chemistry, fueling and driving each other to spark fresh creative ideas.”
Swizz Beatz continues to stretch far beyond the music world. In addition to co-founding Verzuz with Timbaland, he’s known for his work with Reebok, Aston Martin, and Bacardi. He’s also a Harvard Business School grad and an influential art collector.
Brancato, the force behind “Narcos,” “Hannibal,” and “The Sopranos,” brings a heavy-hitting resume of gritty, culture-rooted storytelling that aligns well with Swizz’s creative ethos. Together, they’re blending Brancato’s mastery in scripted drama with Swizz’s cultural clout and entrepreneurial energy.
