T.I. addressed his son, King Harris’, recent arrest and responded to fans calling out his parenting.
We recently reported that King was arrested for unknown charges earlier this week. The 18-year-old was released shortly after being taken into custody and took to Instagram to speak on the situation.
Some fans accused King of trying to be a gangster, while others criticized T.I. for not being a better parent.
However, days later, the Atlanta rapper finally responded to his son’s recent incident and the backlash he received.
On Friday morning, T.I. posted a three-minute video on Instagram saying he had already had a conversation with King about his behavior.
“Stop hitting me, getting in my comments, telling me what to tell King. I know my son. You think I ain’t spoke to my son? I think I ain’t told my son, his mama and his grandmama, his a** going to prison.”
He continued, “If he keep that sh*t up, his a** going to prison. Ain’t no way around it, ain’t nothing I’ll be able to do about it. Can’t nobody stop it but him.”
Further in the video, the rapper addresses the fans who questioned his parenting skills. T.I. mentioned he had made peace with his son’s behavior and God would handle it. He added that King had received adequate punishments and discipline as a child.
“He done got all of the whoopings, he done got the punishments. He did everything as a child that you can do to them. So now he gone have to go through it and get through it. It ain’t nothing me or mama or anybody else gone be able to say about it. But ima love him all the way through.”
He ended the video by saying King is just young and trying to find himself.
“I know who he is at his core. He’s trying to convince himself of things as we all do as young men and even young women growing up. Trying to convince ourselves that we are certain things, and in that journey, we find out exactly who the f*ck we really is.”
