T.I. Awards Scholarships To Single Mom And Student In Honor Of His Late Sister

TI is honoring the memory of his beloved sister Antoinette “Precious” Harris Chapman, by creating a $25,000 scholarship in her honor.

The rapper and mogul partnered with VH1 and the United Negro College Fund to create the scholarship fund. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

During the taping of VH1’s “Dear Mama: A Love Letter to Mom,” Tip awarded Philander Smith College junior Tierani Scott with the Precious Chapman scholarship.

Scott is a single mother, much like the rapper’s late sister, who passed away in a tragic car accident earlier this year.

“This year’s recipient is like my beloved sister,” he said. “It is our hope that this scholarship will help her continue on her path to do great things in her future.”

Scott is a young mother and college student, majoring in sociology at the HBCU located in Little Rock, Arkansas. She maintains a stellar grade point average as well as being the president of her class and creating a group called “The Queen Women’s Empowerment Organization.”
