Rapper T.I. Harris says he’s been grateful for the boos he received during his comedy set at a recent show.
Tip Harris says he’s thankful for his critics in his comedy journey. Instead of taking it as an “L,” Tip is using his naysayers as motivation, according to TMZ. On Tuesday, the news outlet stopped and chatted with the Atlanta native; the rapper said the booing during his Saturday show was eye-opening.
The rapper told TMZ that he feels the boos were an insult and that his jokes were good. He added that he received a standing ovation during his set in Atlanta, mentioning that he believes his response from the seemingly unhappy crowd was about their energy rather than his comedic material.
“I enjoyed every minute of it,” said Harris, adding that his standing ovation doesn’t get the same media attention. “That’s the world we live in. I love every part of the process, every step of the journey. I accept it all.” He went on to say that he feels the boos he received were “pre-meditated.”
“I know so,” said Harris. “When I opened up for Dave — same jokes. Tore the house down. Those are the ones they booed. I know good and damn well those boos were personal. Those boos weren’t based off performance. Those boos were personal.”
