T-Pain Says That “I’m ‘N Luv (Wit a Stripper)” Was Created To Make Fun of One of His Friends

Who would’ve thought that one of T-Pains hottest songs, “I’m ‘N Luv (Wit a Stripper),” started as a big joke?

On a new episode of Mike Tyson’s Hotboxin podcast, the singer told the story of how the song came to be. T-Pain was asked to sing some notes, and he responded with “She poppin’, she rollin’, she rollin’ / She climbin’ that pole.”

He said, “My homeboy was tryna save strippers in the club.” He continued, “The song was a joke. I was literally making fun of him.” He continued, “We was just in the studio fucking around and Big Boi saying it was dope, and I said yep.”

We all may have assumed that T-Pain was the one falling in love with strippers, but it turns out we were wrong.

T-Pain’s most well-known song debuted in 2006 and peaked at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the US Rhythmic.

He recently announced the launch of Nappy Boy Radio, his own podcast and video show, in collaboration with podcast platform PodcastOne. He said, “Too many conversations and interactions I was having with various people kept ending in the same way, with me saying, ‘Damn, we should have recorded that,’ so we decided to do just that and launch the Nappy Boy Radio podcast.”
