Remember back in August when Usher said he and T-Pain had reconciled after his mean-spirited autotune comments? Well, according to the Florida singer, that never happened.
The “I’m Sprung” star spoke with Angie Martinez recently about the supposed conversation between him and Usher. He revealed that while the two made plans to clear the air officially, they never got around to it.
“So, I hit Usher after the interview came out, and I was like, ‘Yo, I’m sure you saw what’s going on,’ and then all he texted me back was, ‘Let’s not text, let’s talk.’ And I was like, ‘Cool, hit me up.'” After their brief text exchange, T-Pain says they haven’t spoken.
For those who may have forgotten, the 37-year-old revealed on “This Is Pop” that Usher was the one who kicked off his four-year depression by telling him that he’d “f——d up music for real singers” by using autotune, which has become increasingly popular in the years since T-Pain pioneered it.
It is unclear why Usher told Billboard that the two had addressed the issue after that episode aired, but at the time, the prolific dancer said he was “happy that T-Pain said something.”
Usher hasn’t responded to T-Pain’s latest revelation.
