It’s official! Taco Bell has green-lit the return of the Enchirito after a nearly ten-year hiatus.
Talks of the Enchirito first emerged when the Mexican fast food joint launched a poll for its Rewards members, allowing fanatics to choose whether they want the Double Decker Taco or the Enchirito to return to restaurants nationwide. Fans wasted no time letting it be known that the Enchirito was the meal they so desperately longed for. With 62 percent of votes, Taco Bell will be selling the tasty meal beginning November 17th. This gives the taco giant a little over a month to prepare for the influx of orders.Â
For those unfamiliar with the Enchirito, it is a delicious folded flour tortilla smothered in “red sauce” and stuffed with seasoned ground beef, beans, diced onions, and melted cheddar cheese. This Taco Bell trademarked fan favorite debuted in the 1970s and satisfied customers up until 2013, when it was abruptly discontinued. Fortunately, 760,000 fans let their voices be heard, prompting the company to announce Enchirito’s resurgence.Â
“This one’s all you, #TeamEnchirito. The Enchiritoâ„¢ will be back for a limited time,” the company announced on Instagram.
Taco Bell does not plan on keeping the Enchirito around as a regular item. Customers only have until November 30th to get their hands on this exclusive delicacy.Â
Listening to customers is what makes Taco Bell so successful. Last month, they brought back the Mexican Pizza after hearing the urging of devoted patrons who dearly missed the bestseller.Â
