Taco Bell is interested in bringing two new items to their menus, and they include a giant-sized Cheez-It.
Available exclusively in Southern California at the moment, the Big Cheez-It Tostada and the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme will be included on menus for two weeks. The Tostada uses an oversized Cheez-It as a plate of sorts and tops it with seasoned beef, diced tomatoes, lettuce, sour cream, and shredded cheese. The Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme is pretty much the same formula but wrapped in a large Cheez-It style tortilla.
The latest creations arrive following Taco Bell’s decision to scrap its Mexican Pizza due to high demand. The customer favorite was brought back and quickly began to sell out at restaurants across the country. It is unclear if the new Cheez-It offerings will be a long-term replacement for the pizza.
Nevertheless, the company says it is “thrilled about this new concept” and hopes fans of Cheez-It and Taco Bell will be able to experience both brands with this exciting new twist.
This is not the first time Taco Bell has teamed up with a snack brand for a collaboration. In 2012, Taco Bell joined forces with Doritos for the Nacho-Cheese Doritos Locos Taco. The following year, they unveiled a version of the Doritos Locos Tacos with a Cool Ranch flavored shell.
The Big Cheez-It Tostada will run you $2.49, while the Big Cheez-It Crunchwrap Supreme costs $4.29. At this time, it is unknown when or if Taco Bell will expand this new offering to restaurants beyond California.
