Takeoff Honored by Family, Fans, Celebrity Friends and More at Atlanta Homegoing Service

A “Celebration of Life” was held Friday in honor of Takeoff in his hometown of Atlanta.

Family, friends, fans, and peers gathered to remember the late Migos rapper at the city’s Statefarm Arena. The service reportedly started just after noon and was marked by emotional speeches by family members and artists, including Drake and fellow Migos rappers Offset and Quavo.

TMZ reports that Justin Bieber, Chloe Bailey, and Yolanda Adams performed during the ceremony.

While there was a “strict no photo and no video policy” inside the venue, some fans shared clips of the occasion via social media.  In one post, Chloe Bailey is seen performing Beyoncè’s song “Heaven.”

In another glimpse of the service, Offset is seen emotionally honoring his groupmate, saying he changed the music culture forever. Migos groupmate and uncle Quavo also read a letter he penned to Takeoff, reflecting on their childhood and how they did everything together.

Drake, who toured with the Migos and frequently collaborated with the trio, also spoke about their times together.

As previously reported, Takeoff was shot and killed earlier this month at a Houston bowling alley.

Currently, no arrests have been made.
