Tamar Braxton claims that her boyfriend David Adefeso was the person who tried to hurt her in a recent domestic violence incident where she says he assaulted her and threatened to kill her in a “murder-suicide,” The Blast reports.
During a drive to check Braxton into a mental health facility for treatment, sources close to Braxton say the star and Adesfeso got into an altercation. The Blast reports that Braxton questioned Adefeso about an Instagram post of him and Braxton’s 7-year-old son, Logan Herbert, hanging out. At some point during the back and forth, Tamar told Adefeso that he was “around for the wrong reasons and could not be trusted.”
The star claims that’s when Adefeso became “irate, threatening not only her life but his own.” She said Adefeso told her that they would end up in a “murder-suicide.” Sources close to the situation say the argument escalated, and Adefeso violently “grabbed her hard” by her arm, which left bruising. Braxton said she only became physical with him after he touched her. The outlet reports that there are photos of the injuries that corroborate her story.

Since then, Adefeso has filed a restraining order against Braxton, demanding that she stay away from him. Adefeso has yet to reveal his allegations against her. Braxton’s legal team told The Blast that “any claims that Ms. Braxton was the aggressor and/or abusive are completely false and have no merit. David Adefeso has been upset and abusive since seeing his own true colors on Tamar’s upcoming television show and has been taking it out on Tamar ever since.” Braxton recently shared that she and Adefeso were upset about how the first trailer for her new WeTV show portrayed her boyfriend.
Braxton’s family claimed Adefeso’s 911 call after Braxton was found unresponsive was strange. The family said that it was odd that Adefeso gave very specific details about the reality star’s show during the emergency phone call. Things got weirder, sources say, while Braxton was hospitalized. In July, Braxton was notified that Adefeso was releasing public statements about her medical condition without her consent.
Braxton said she did not want to call the police on Adefeso “because she wasn’t trying to ruin his business,” however, Adefeso did contact police. Nevertheless, Braxton said Adefeso saved her life. “I came here just to say this, and then I’m logging off… if you have ever been in recovery or treatment, you know that you reflect on a lot of things…so, I couldn’t let another day, another second go by without PUBLICLY Thanking my Love David.adefeso for saving my life… I’m so grateful. I was in our home, lifeless,” she said in an Instagram post.
