In the wake of the longstanding controversy over Jussie Smollett’s alleged hate crime, the actor will be returning to his beloved role as Jamal Lyon on Fox’s hit series, “Empire.”
Smollett’s co-star, Taraji P. Henson broke the news on “The View,” as she shared a bit of insight on the actor’s well-being after his charges were dropped.
“I talk to Jussie all the time. And he’s doing well,” she said. “We’re all doing well. The show is doing well. We’re on hiatus right now. The writers are trying to figure out what the next season is going to look like, what our storyline is going to be. They’re trying to drum up some really good stuff for you guys.”
As the interview continued, Henson also revealed that Smollett is “definitely going to be on the show,” assuming the series gets greenlit for a new season.
“Yes. I haven’t heard anything else,” she said. “I haven’t heard anything?”
Elsewhere in the interview, Henson opened up about her new movie, mental health and more.
