Allen Iverson’s ex-wife Tawanna is on the hunt for Allen Iverson’s Reebok money. Allen Iverson is expected to receive a half a million dollar check from the shoe giant in January but Tawanna wants to make sure she gets what she is owed FIRST. Tawanna tells a Fulton County court that her ex-husband owes more than $225,000 from the divorce. She wants the Judge to intercept Allen’s $450,000 payment from Reebok which is coming next month. She also asks that if the money is paid directly to Allen, that the court “restrain him from using or otherwise disposing of” the funds. She asks that in this case the court requires A.I. to put the money in an account with the court until she is paid what is owed.
I don’t see anything wrong with this tactic seeing as though this is the order from the court. The only reason I would see something wrong with what Tawanna is doing is if Allen was given a certain amount of time to pay and that time has not passed. Either way, we should have known this divorce wasn’t going to end peacefully.
