Tax Stone Has Not Been Released From Jail Yet; Bail Appealed

Earlier this week, social media erupted after reports surfaced of Tax Stone’s arrest. As the week went on, officials revealed new details regarding the podcast host’s case and charges in connection with the May 2016 Irving Plaza shooting. According to reports, the 31-year-old’s DNA was found on the murder weapon and federal officials revealed Tax, whose real name is Daryl Campbell, owned the gun and fired the shot that left one man dead.
Amid reports naming Campbell as the alleged shooter, new reports surfaced claiming Campbell had placed on house arrest after posting $500,000 bail. However, according to Charlemagne tha God from Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, that is not the case.
This morning during the show’s rumor report, Angela Yee read the report that claimed Campbell had been released to which Charlemagne interjected and said, “that is not true.”
“He’s not out on house arrest,” Yee asked. “No,” Charlemagne responded.
“So, why are people reporting that,” she asked her co-host, to which he responded, “because people are ridiculous. Fake news, that is not even remotely true. Fake news is at an all time high. Like that is not even accurate at all.”
“So, he’s not out of jail,” Yee asked, completely confused. “No,” Charlemagne said, with a giggle. “Not even close.”
After a short exchange between the two, Yee asked Charlemagne to disclose the truth about his friend, Campbell.
“He’s got another hearing, this morning,” he said. “There was a $500,000 bail but the prosecutor appealed it. So they have an appeal hearing this morning to see if the bail will actually go through.”

If at the appeal hearing the bail goes through, Campbell will be able to post. Then he will reportedly be placed on house arrest.
