Tay-K Slapped With New Felony Charge For Having Cell Phone in Jail, Transported to Solitary Confinement

Last week, TayK 47 was slapped with a new felony charge, on top of his capital murder and aggravated robbery charges for his alleged role in the 2016 shooting of 21-year-old Ethan Walker and two other incidents, for having a cell phone in jail.

According to Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the 18-year-old rapper, best known for his Billboard hit “The Race,” which charted after his infamous nationwide manhunt for murder, was caught with a cell phone on July 25.

In the incident, Tay-K, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, was preparing to be moved to a new maximum-security facility after an altercation he’d had with another inmate.

As officials conducted a pat-down, a deputy felt the illegal item in the “groin region” of the rapper’s underwear. However, when the officer asked him to remove it,  the rapper tried to toss it in the toilet.

From there, the incident escalated to violence, as Tay-K then got into a physical altercation with one of the jailers. Once he was subdued, he was taken to a new facility and placed in solitary confinement.

He will be held in the cell, alone, for 23 hours a day with one hour allotted gym time. In the meantime, his bond for the new case has been set at $10,000, but he is still booked without bond for the 2016 home invasion robbery that left Walker dead.

At the time of the incident, the rapper was on house arrest. Just days before his hearing in the Walker case, he cut his monitor off and ran. During his time on the run, according to the publication, officials believe McIntyre fatally shot a 23-year-old in April and beat and robbed a senior man in May, all at the age of 16.

He was arrested the following year and charged as an adult on charges of capital murder and aggravated robbery in connection to the case.
