The classic 1999 film that has made audiences laugh and cry may be coming to our home screens as a TV series.
Diggs sat in for an interview with CBS’ The Talk and shared that a third film is still in talks but that fans can possibly expect a show based on the film. “I do think it will happen,” Diggs told the hosts. “We’ve all been in discussions with the director Malcolm Lee. I think it might end up being a TV series, maybe on a streaming platform. But the script has already been written, so we’ll see.”
The film, which stars Diggs, Morris Chestnut, Nia Long, Terrence Howard, Sanaa Lathan, Harold Perrineau, and Monica Calhoun, was a box-office hit with its sequel in 2013, raking up a whopping $70 million. After the release of the sequel, Universal announced the threequel would be called The Best Man Wedding and would be released in 2016. However, Malcolm Lee said last year that the film has been put on pause due to scheduling complications and creative differences between him and the studio.
Would y’all be here for TV series of “The Best Man?”
