Taye Diggs opens up about the criticism he’s faced throughout his life.
On the recent episode of ‘Uncensored,’ the ‘All American’ actor says he was labeled a “white boy” growing up. According to Diggs, the students at his school would consider him a white boy because he didn’t act black enough.
“Being labeled a ‘white boy,’ it was painful,” he says. “Once I figured out how to manipulate situations, I made a habit of studying people so that I don’t feel less than. As soon as I realized certain Black people at school were calling me ‘white,’ I made it about them. I didn’t change who I was, and I just went harder.”
Diggs continues saying the scrutiny followed him throughout his adulthood as well.
“I remember when I moved to New York. People that didn’t even know my history, women, would say ‘you only date white girls’…before they even knew anything about me. That happened more times than not,” the actor added.
The actor has been doing his thing on the screen with the hit show “All American” and has brought nothing but laughter to TikTok alongside his boo Apryl Jones.
