In case you missed it, the Grammy Awards were held last night and there were several moments on stage, and behind the scenes, that had people talking. Before the closing of the night, Taylor Swift had a few things she also wanted to get off her chest.
As Taylor accepted the award for “Album of the Year,” apparently the first woman in history to take home this accolade twice, the singer took the time to address Kanye and the lyrics in which he said he made her famous. “As the first woman to win Album of the Year at the Grammys twice, I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success, or take credit for your accomplishments, or your fame,” said Swift. “If you just focus on the work, and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, some day when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you will know that it was you and the people who love you who put you there. And that will be the greatest feeling in the world.”
This is a far cry from the tweets where Kanye said that Taylor was not only cool with the lyric, but also agreed that he made her famous. Considering Kanye has been using social media more than he’s ever used it before, I’m sure we can expect some type of response.
