Fox recently announced that Taylor Swift will receive the inaugural Icon Award at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards next month.
“As one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with more than 50 million albums sold, Taylor Swift is a pop culture icon whose accolades and achievements go beyond topping music charts and selling out stadiums worldwide,” the network said in a statement, according to Variety.
According to People, the “Icon” honor comes as Swift is set to release her seventh studio album, ’Lover,’ next month, as she has already released three tracks from the upcoming record — most recently “The Archer,” which she dropped earlier this week and a role in the upcoming movie- “CATS”.
On Tuesday, the musician tied with Ariana Grande for the most nominations at the 2019 MTV Video Music Awards — scoring 10 nods for her ’Lover’ album music videos, “ME!” and “You Need to Calm Down.”
Her newest single “The Archer” marked the first music Swift has dropped since she publicly slammed Scooter Braun and Big Machine Label co-founder Scott Borchetta over the manager’s $300 million purchase of her catalog.
The 2019 Teen Choice Awards will air Aug. 11 on Fox, at 8:00 p.m. ET.
