Federal prosecutors released details on a 44-year-old math teacher and track coach who describes himself as a “follower of Christ,” who brazenly posed as a teenage boy and coerced at least two underage girls to “produce pornographic images of themselves,” to send to him.
According to The Daily Beast, prosecutors allege that when the girls attempted to resist his follow-up demands for more nudes, the teacher, identified as Chad Alan Craghead of Fulton, Missouri, allegedly threatened to expose the girls and send the compromising photos he had already collected to the teens’ friends and family members.
Federal agents arrested Craghead on June 16 and charged him with five felony charges: two counts of production of child pornography, one count of cyberstalking, and two counts of interstate communications with intent to extort. If convicted, Craghead can face 15 to 30 years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000.
Craghead was a teacher at North Callaway High School and Hatton-McCredie Elementary, and authorities said he had no serious criminal history before this arrest. The married father of three described himself as a JH math teacher, a head XC coach, a Distance Track coach for North Callaway and Follower of Christ, and a CMSU XCTF (Central Missouri State University cross-country/track and field) Alum on his online coaching profile.
