Senator Ted Cruz Is Reportedly Headed Back To Texas After 11-Hour “Vacation” In Cancun

Welp, that was a quick vacation!

It seems like Republican Senator Ted Cruz is already on his way back from Cancun, Mexico, to face his Texas constituents, who are still dealing with the worst winter storm ever to hit the state.

According to Yahoo News, Cruz, who was caught last night boarding a plane with his family for a poorly timed vacation to warm and sunny Cancun, has been spotted on the upgrade list for a direct flight back from Cancun to Houston.

The winter storm that has left millions of Texans struggling with no heat, power, water, or food- in the middle of a pandemic, is said to be one of the worst natural disasters ever to hit the state.

Democrats and critics have spent the last 11 hours ridiculing Cruz’s terribly-timed travel plans, even nicknaming him “Fled Cruz” and calling for his resignation.

Cruz’s office released a statement a short time ago, explaining that he only flew down to Mexico with his children who asked to take a trip with their friends since school was canceled for the week due to the storm, and stated he has been in “constant communication with state and local leaders to get to the bottom of what happened in Texas.”
