One teen boy identified as Dai’trell Teal was killed after a fight broke out outside Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in Arlington, Texas.
On Wednesday, around 7 pm, an off-duty police officer – who works part-time as security at the park – witnessed six to eight people fighting outside the theme park.
Just as he was about to break up the fight, a gunshot rang out, hitting a 16-year-old male in the back. “We are working a shooting at Hurricane Harbor. One person has been shot and transported to a local hospital. This is not an active shooter situation. Officers are actively working the scene and speaking with witnesses. The incident occurred at closing time around 7:03 pm,” reads a tweet posted by the Arlington Police Department.
In a later post, the department updated the public, saying the teen was pronounced dead and informed anyone with information to contact a detective assigned to the case. “Final update regarding the shooting outside of Hurricane Harbor. 16-year old teen pronounced deceased at the hospital.
