Ah’Traveon Van’Quavious Stephens was arrested at the Atlanta airport for his connection to the murder of a 16-year-old this past summer.
Police arrested the 18-year-old at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport on charges of felony murder and aggravated assault, WSBTV News reported.
Authorities did not disclose where Stephens was going at the airport when he was taken into custody.
The charges stem from Troup County. LaGrange police said on the night of June 24, officers were called to Mason’s World on Hogansville Road and the LaGrange Car Wash on Vernon St.
Two 16-year-old boys were found shot at the car wash that’s located close to the restaurant. One of the victims had been shot in the leg, and the other, Laquan Dewberry, had been shot in the upper torso. Dewberry succumbed to his injuries.
At the restaurant, officers found a 17-year-old girl who had also been shot and had non-life-threatening injuries.
Stephens is detained at the Troup County Jail.
