A Texas family is reeling after a 17-year-old girl was stabbed to death Wednesday, and her twin brother is the prime suspect.
Benjamin Elliott is now facing murder charges and was booked into Harris County Jail. No bond has been set.
Law enforcement responded to a call at around 4:45 a.m. and found Elliott performing CPR on his sister, Meghan Elliott. The victim had several stab wounds to the neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.Â
Authorities told ABC13 that the twins’ parents were asleep inside the home. The knife deputies believe to be the murder weapon was recovered at the home.Â
During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that when Elliott called 911, he told dispatchers that he stabbed his sister.Â
The parents of the twins initially denied deputies inside the house to search for evidence. They were finally able to get a warrant and were able to gather evidence.Â
The motive reason behind the stabbing is unknown at this time. Investigators do not believe there is any kind of fight between the siblings.Â
