A woman in North Carolina stabbed a teen Jimmy John’s worker because they mixed up her sandwich order.
Police in North Carolina arrested 45-year-old Demetris Coleman for allegedly stabbing a 16-year-old Jimmy John’s employee working behind the counter. Fox News reports the incident took place on April 25 at 5:50 p.m.
According to employees at the location, Coleman is an infamous customer and has been turned away for service due to her past behavior. The workers say before she stabbed the girl, she started throwing items at her. The tool she used was an edged weapon.
The teen was taken to Moses Cone Hospital, where she is expected to recover from serious injuries.
“The sheer fact that an adult finds it OK to physically assault someone because a sandwich menu, or a sandwich order being wrong, is abhorrent,” High Point police Capt. Patrick O’Toole remarked to WXII, Fox News reports. “The fact that you were willing to assault someone, not only physically but with an edged weapon over a sandwich being wrong, I can’t explain how you come to that conclusion.”
Coleman was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and injury to real property for the damages to the store, Fox News reports.
