A 15-year-old girl has died after an Uzi submachine gun she was posing with for a TikTok video accidentally went off.
The fatal shooting happened in Mexico when the girl identified as YazmÃn Esmeralda, was visiting her grandmother’s house and discovered the weapon stashed away in the bottom of a bedroom closet.
Esmeralda who was with her younger brother at the time asked the boy to film her posing with the machine gun so she could upload the clip to her TikTok account, but the gun went off, shooting her in the head.
Authorities are investigating how the 9mm Uzi, which had been banned from Mexico’s military after they discovered the weapon was prone to accidental discharge, ended up in the home.
