Tekashi69 is officially off the hook in the Houston battery case involving a minor – at least for now.
The Brooklyn-bred rapper was arrested last week in New York upon his return from his European Tour. Officials said he was being held on a Houston warrant over a misdemeanor battery charge for allegedly punching a 16-year-old in the face at the Galleria.
Initially, a judge deemed the rainbow-haired rapper a flight risk and ordered him to remain behind bars until his extradition. But, after a few negotiations, a judge allowed 6ix9ine to post a $150k bail with the promise to return to the city of the alleged crime and turn himself in.
Since then, 6ix9ine has kept his word.
According to TMZ, the rapper flew to the Lone Star State to surrender and cough up a $5,000 bail. After affairs were in order, he was released and scheduled to be in court in the next few days.
