Infamous televangelist Jim Bakker was ordered to pay $156,000 in restitution to the viewers of his religious talk show after falsely claiming to have a COVID cure called the “Silver Solution” that contained colloidal silver.
According to Insider, colloidal silver is a dangerous ingredient that reportedly causes toxic and permanent discoloration to the skin.
Last February, Bakker, along with his guest host Sherill Sellman claimed that the “Silver Solution,” which came in a liquid bottle and gel form, could “kill” and “deactivate” the COVID virus within 12 hours.
Bakker advertised a starter kit for $125 on the show and a deal of 12 bottles for $300 on his website.
As part of the judicial settlement, Bakker and his church, the Jim Bakker Show Ministry, are also barred from selling the Silver Solution to “diagnose, prevent, mitigate, treat or cure any disease or illness.”
