A quiet Friday morning turned tragic when a powerful explosion tore through an explosives manufacturing plant in Hickman County, Tennessee, leaving several people dead and at least 19 others unaccounted for.

Authorities said the blast occurred just before 8 a.m. at Accurate Energetic Systems, located about 50 miles west of Nashville.
“We do have some folks, we can confirm that we do have some that are deceased,” Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis confirmed during a press briefing.
Officials said 19 employees remain missing, while several others were hospitalized. “This is not going to be something that we’re just going to clean up the debris and leave,” Davis added. “We’re going to probably be here for a few days.”
Residents miles away felt their homes shake. “I thought the house had collapsed with me inside of it,” said local resident Gentry Stover.
Accurate Energetic Systems, which supplies products to the U.S. defense industry, is now the center of a massive investigation involving multiple agencies. Authorities are urging the public to stay clear of the area as crews continue rescue and recovery efforts.
