Tennessee Rep. Jeremy Faison was removed from a high school basketball after attempting to pull down a referee’s pants.
Faison attended his son’s basketball game at Provision Academy game against Lakeway Christian on Tuesday.
Faison, who happens to be Tennessee’s GOP House Caucus Chairman, became upset after the referee called a technical foul on both teams.
After expressing his grievances, Faison was told to leave the building. However, the lawmaker said, “you can’t tell me to leave. This was your fault.”
Faison then unsuccessfully attempted to pull down a referee’s pants.
Later that night, Faison addressed the altercation. The lawmaker apologized and confessed to acting out.
“For years, I thought how wrong is it when a parent looses their temper at a sporting event. It’s not Christian and it’s not mature. And it’s embarrassing to the child have always been my thoughts. Unfortunately, I acted the fool tonight and lost my temper on a ref. I was wanting him to fight me. Totally lost my junk and got booted from the gym. I’ve never really lost my temper but I did tonight and it was completely stupid of me. Emotions getting the way of rational thoughts are never good. I hope to be able to find the ref and ask for his forgiveness. I was bad wrong.”

I’m hoping to be able to make it right. pic.twitter.com/W8PINvTue5— Jeremy Faison (@JeremyFaison4TN) January 5, 2022
