In Ghana, a 15-year-old tennis player slapped his opponent across the face after he lost during the first round of the ITF juniors tournament on Monday.
French player Michael Kouame attempts to shake hands with Ghana‘s Raphael Nii Ankrah at center court, but he slaps him instead.
According to videos posted online, it is unclear what prompted Kouame to slap his opponent, but the move resulted in an all-out brawl.
In an Instagram Story Tuesday, the Functional Tennis podcast said it had removed the video, but a tennis coach in Ghana posted it on Twitter.
Ankrah defeated Kouame in three sets (6-2, 6-7, 7-6) and will face another Ghanaian in the second round, Ishmael Nii Nortey Dowuona.
