A Tesla driver who was involved in a fatal wreck in California while using the Autopilot feature over two years ago has been charged with two counts of vehicular manslaughter.
27-year-old limo driver Kevin George Aziz Riad will be the first person in the United States to face felony charges for the deadly crash which involved a motorist who was using Tesla’s partially automated driving system.
In December 2019, Riad was allegedly behind the wheel of the Tesla Model S that veered off a freeway in Gardena. The vehicle reportedly blew through a red light and struck a Honda Civic, killing two people.
