A Texas firefighter was found dead Monday in the Mexican resort town where he was vacationing with his wife for their 10-year wedding anniversary.
Elijah Snow traveled with his wife to Cancun to stay in an all-inclusive resort. The couple was drinking at the hotel bar on the first night when his wife, Jamie, decided to go back to their room.
Jamie woke up around 4 a.m. and realized Snow had not come back to the room. She went to search for her husband, eventually being told he was found dead. Officials ruled the death an accident and believe there is no foul play involved.
Snow’s body was found stuck in a bathroom window of a hotel. Officials believe he may have accidentally fallen between the walls of the neighboring resort.
However, the family refutes the authorities’ version of events. After hiring an attorney and reviewing crime scene photos, the family believes Snow was kidnapped and beaten.
“Our family has been struck with tragedy we are heartbroken with the loss of our son in law,” Snow’s father-in-law, Randy Elledge, wrote in a Facebook post.
Snow was an eight-year veteran with the Arlington Fire Department. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind two children.
