A teenager is in custody after opening fire at a Texas high school after getting into a fight with a fellow student.
On Wednesday morning, police say 18-year-old Timothy George Simpkins and another student got into a physical altercation inside a classroom at Timberview High School in Arlington. The fight was recorded and quickly circulated on social media. Emergency dispatchers received a call around 9:15 a.m. reporting that an active shooter was on the school grounds.

When police responded, they found one adult and a student suffering from gunshot wounds. The 15-year-old student remains in critical condition, while the adult has been listed in good condition. Another student was grazed by a bullet but is also expected to survive. A pregnant woman also sustained a fall but declined treatment.
The school was placed on lockdown as authorities searched for the suspect. Simpkins turned himself in via his attorney at around 1:30 p.m. He is facing three counts of aggravated assault.
It is unclear if any of the victims injured were involved in the fight with Simpkins prior to the shooting.
My daughter just texted me that there was a school school shooting at Timberview H.S. In Mansfield ISD in Arlington, TX. She sent this video that’s out. Her nearby school is on lockdown also, and we hear police sirens rushing in. Police confirm there is an active shooter. Praying pic.twitter.com/m90QzZUfTz
