A Texas woman is lucky to be alive after a road rage incident led to her being chased with a gun.
The terrifying incident took place on Tuesday near Humble when the unidentified victim was at a red light. An angry driver, identified as 30-year-old Kevin Roth, was sitting behind her, and when the light turned green, he began honking at the woman. Once she honked back, that is when things seemed to escalate. The man followed closely behind her, brandishing a gun as he trailed her. He even rear-ended her vehicle. Instead of pulling over to check the damage immediately, the terrified woman sped up and did not stop until she came to a convenience store.
Surveillance video from the store showed the woman pulling into the Phillips 66 gas station at the intersection of Atascocita Road and Wilson Road. Roth pulled over as well, and when the victim did exit the car and began to run, he followed closely behind her pointing his gun. At one point, he even tried to take her keys from her. Roth then got back into his car and rammed her car again before trying to block her in. He also yelled racial slurs at her.
When police responded to the scene, Roth was taken into custody and hit with an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge. Still, the victim remains shaken by the entire ordeal.
“He could have shot me. I could tell he was kind of scared himself. He was shaking his hand. That’s why I was scared. I’m scared because you’re scared. He could have done anything to me just out of fear,” she told ABC 13.
Roth has since bonded out of jail and is awaiting. The woman does not want her identity released for safety concerns.
