Just days after Teyana Taylor’s Kanye West-produced sophomore album #KTSE was released, the singer has revealed that due to a misunderstanding, the wrong version was put out.
During a sit down with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Teyana admitted that she was surprised to learn that the album that dropped wasn’t actually her completed project. According to Taylor, verses were missing and samples hadn’t cleared.

“When the album dropped, I didn’t even know that much stuff wasn’t cleared,” Taylor said. “So when the album dropped and my friends woke me up like, ‘Yo, the album is out,’ like, I was excited, but I was also like, ‘Wait, does that mean they were able to get everything cleared?’ It was really just an honest misunderstanding of me thinking maybe some shit happened overnight.”

While the album was released a day later than its expected date, the drop fell in line with West’s previously stated personal goal of releasing five consecutive albums.

Taylor stated West made the “executive decision” to rush the album to meet its deadline in an effort to make her happy. However, Taylor said she was willing to wait.

“I would have waited that [extra] week,” she said.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Taylor went on to say that her album is awaiting an update and will be re-released in the coming week.
