The family of popular TikToker “That Girl Britney Joy” is mourning the loss of their loved ones following a deadly car crash.
Over the weekend, Britney Joy and her mother Sherie Smith, were involved in a car accident while headed to a Juneteenth celebration. The incident occurred on Monday when their vehicle collided with a pickup truck. Joy then lost control of the car as it flipped over and landed on its roof.
Joy’s sister, Tiffany Cofield, spoke out about the incident saying, “I just kept screaming. I couldn’t believe it was my mom and my sister.”
She continued, “It looked like her car, and everybody, when I was walking up, said a mom and daughter died, and I knew they had left, and knew the only mom and daughter would be my mom and sister.”
Additionally, Cofield also posted about the tragic news confirming the death of her sister and her mom.
“June 19, 2023 will always be a day I remember,” she captioned her Instagram post. “My mom and my sister passed and left me here. My worst nightmare came true. God took my ride or dies, my girls, my everything, my best friend. I lived my life loving them. I loved my family.”

Prior to her death, Joy successfully built a TikTok following that skyrocketed from 4,000 followers to over 400,000 with videos depicting her struggle of working a 9 to 5 job.
“This happened so suddenly and was truly something I could have never imagine. Losing my best friends,” Cofield posted on a GoFundMe. “This was just as my sister, beloved TikToker Britney Joy, began rising up in fame for her 9-5 videos that hit the internet by storm. Everyone related to her stories and those of her characters.”
