Drake may be the butt of many social media jokes as his rap battle with Kendrick Lamar is now winding down, but it has not stopped his bag.  In fact, Aubrey’s business world outside of rap is continuing to thrive. While some only recognize the Toronto superstar as a musician, his entrepreneurial endeavors are all lucrative. Since we’ve spent weeks dissecting the rhymes of Drizzy, let’s dive into his impressive business portfolio. 

OVO Brand

Drake’s October’s Very Own, commonly known as OVO, started with the OVO clothing brand in 2008. The company has grown throughout the years, establishing partnerships with Disney, NCAA, and Canada Goose for custom apparel. The line has storefront locations throughout Canada, London, and the U.S., where shops are in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and New York.

The OVO record label came about in 2012 and was an imprint of Warner Records until 2022. Now a fully independent company, it still is home to acts including PartyNextDoor, DVSN, Majid Jordan, and Roy Woods. 

Virginia Black Whiskey

In 2016, Drake partnered with Brent Hocking to launch Virginia Black Whiskey, a brand of bourbon whiskey known for its vanilla notes. The brand gained popularity and has been successful in the spirits market.

Mod Sélection Champagne

In 2019, Drake collaborated with Brent Hocking again to launch Mod Sélection Champagne, a luxury champagne brand. The beverage is positioned as a high-end offering in the market, with bottles priced between $300 and $400.

Toronto Raptors Partnership

Drake has a significant partnership with the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, serving as the global ambassador. While not a company, this collaboration has led to various marketing opportunities and initiatives. He is partially credited with the team making the NBA Finals in 2019.

Sher Club

Not one to spare a single dollar on luxury experiences, Drake opened a private member-only lounge called Sher Club in Toronto. The space offers a host of amenities, such as a bar, lounge, and entertainment options. It is accessible by invite only and open during all Air Canada Centre events. Each member is estimated to pay roughly $7,000 a year.
