That’s Baller: License Plate Sells For $15 Million In Dubai

An exclusive license plate went up for auction in Dubai over the weekend, netting a shocking $15 million. 

The two-character license plate, also known as a vanity plate, sports a “P7” in black font against a white background. It went up for bidding during Emirates Auction LLC’s “Most Noble Numbers” auction at the Four Seasons Hotel in Jumeirah. Bids for “P7” began on Saturday at $4 million. It soon shot to $8 million, and by nightfall, the highest bidder had won the plate for a staggering $15 million, which is Dh55 million. The auction house has yet to reveal the lucky buyer’s identity.

The total proceeds of the “Most Noble Numbers” auction brought in nearly $27 million, which is Dh100 million. All proceeds will go towards the 1 Billion Meals Endowment campaign, a global food program that feeds underprivileged individuals. “P7” helped hit another milestone, becoming the most expensive license plate in the world. The auction house shared the big news in an Instagram post. 

“We are proud to announce that the ‘Most Noble Numbers’ charity auction organized by Emirates Auction has set a new world record and entered the Guinness Book of Records!” they captioned the IG Reel highlighting the lavish night.

According to Robb Report, the “P7” dethroned the previous record holder that sold for $14.3 million in 2008. Businessman Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khouri took home a similar single-digit plate.
