Lil Baby now owns a limited-edition Maybach designed in collaboration with Virgil Abloh before his untimely death in November 2021.
A video of the “Project MAYBACH” car was posted on Instagram, along with a miniature replica. There are only 150 units of the car in existence.
In the video, you can hear a clip of Lil Baby’s 2022 single, “From Now On,” featuring Future playing in the background, “Virgil Maybach be so sweet, we just get ’em, ain’t no beef.”
The “one-of-a-kind electric show car” recently appeared in Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind “Sticky” video.
Mercedez-Benz has also released a short documentary featuring Virgil Abloh, chronicling the creative process behind “Project MAYBACH.”
“The premise is to use two words to drive you to a new action,” Virgil Abloh explained. “So utility and luxury are usually not used in the same sentence, and the car we’re developing can function as such.”
